At The Sharpening Dude, we strive to get your gear into your hands as quickly and efficiently as possible. We work with a variety of trusted suppliers and handle each order personally to ensure accuracy and satisfaction.

πŸ› οΈ How Our Shipping Process Works (Equipment Orders)

We do not keep large inventory on hand. Instead, many of our products are ordered directly from our suppliers after you place your order. This allows us to offer more variety and keep costs down for our customers.

  • Orders are typically processed within 1–3 business days
  • Once fulfilled, most items ship within 3–7 business days
  • Custom or made-to-order items may take longer to arrive

You will receive a tracking number as soon as your order is shipped.

⛸️ Mail-In Services

Our mail-in skate services (sharpening, profiling, repairs, and more) are available nationwide. Here's how shipping works for mail-in orders:

Getting your skates to us:

  • You are responsible for shipping your skates or steel to us and for the cost of that shipment. USPS, UPS, and FedEx are all accepted.
  • Carrier insurance on the inbound shipment is optional and your choice β€” we recommend it for high-value skates.
  • Please pack carefully: blade guards on (or blades wrapped), padding around the skates, and a sturdy box. The Sharpening Dude is not responsible for items lost or damaged in transit to us.

Getting your skates back:

  • Return shipping is a flat $11.99, collected at checkout when you order your service.
  • Every return shipment is insured by The Sharpening Dude up to the value of your skates.
  • If a return shipment is lost or damaged, contact us right away. We will handle the carrier claim, and because we sell skates, we will work with you directly on a replacement to get you back on the ice as fast as possible.
  • You will receive tracking as soon as your skates ship back.

Turnaround: Service work is completed within 1–2 business days of your skates arriving, unless we contact you to let you know otherwise.

🚚 Shipping Rates & Delivery Times

Shipping costs are calculated at checkout and based on your location and the size/weight of your order. We use a combination of USPS, UPS, FedEx, and other reliable carriers.

❗ Delays or Backorders

While we make every effort to get your order to you on time, delays can happen due to supplier stock, weather, or carrier issues. If there's a significant delay, we'll contact you right away with options.
