First time using him and everything was perfect. Super knowledgeable and helped me pick good profile. It was night and day difference when I got back on the ice. I won’t go anywhere else from now on.
Sharpening dude is the best he’s been consistent and he is so customer friendly his ability to work with you and get you. Your custom blade. Sharpening is outstanding. I’ve been going to him for the past two years. He never quits and he is truly a champion.
Ordering process was straightforward. Easy to select options with provided information. Steel runners look and perform great. Only criticism is the notification process from order processing to order shipment.
John is so kind and does such a good and thorough job. He works those blades in a flash but carefully attends to the details and answers questions about his work with confidence and experience. I brought three pair of figure skates today and was in and out quickly and most satisfied. So glad to be a customer.
Thank you so much for squeezing us in last minute! What a difference having my daughter's skates sharpened by a professional made. We appreciate the affordable pricing! We enjoyed meeting you and appreciate your friendly and positive demeanor. We will definitely come again and pass along your name to others.
John is the one who I trust to sharpen my skates especially my son’s. Also, he’s an avid hockey fan and has wealth of information in DMV! I highly recommend him for anyone looking to get their ice hockey skates sharpened!
My son and I went to John to get his first hockey skates sharpened because of all of the positive reviews and he didn’t disappoint. He was so friendly and extremely knowledgeable and clearly just loves the sport. We will definitely go back to The Sharpening Dude!
Best sharpening job in the area and he always has the supplies we need. Also a great source on area hockey and programs for ALL kids. Many thanks!
I don’t know Jonathan, but my rink has very limited sharpening hours and since I work in DC, I could never get my skates sharpened.
when I saw “the sharpening dude“ show up on my Google maps I knew I had to go. This guy has a PhD in sharpening. He spent 30 minutes with me going over all the nuances and sharpening my skates much better than they deserved, even re-laced my skates for me and took a selfie with brodeur game used stick. Way above and beyond. Five stars.
I can’t say enough great things about Jonathan and The Sharpening Dude! I have been going to him after a lot of mixed sharpening results at rinks and stores in the area and the blades have never felt better/more consistent now. His passion for the sport and craft is apparent and he takes the time to learn about your skating style and needs to provide recommendations as well. If you’re looking for exceptional service from someone who knows their stuff, this is the place to go. Highly recommend!
Best skate sharpening. The sharpening Dude was very helpful with patient explanations and thoughtful recommendations. Skating was super smooth. Really glad we found TSD!
TSD is nothing but amazing. Jonathan went above and beyond for me today. He is a true diamond in the DMV hockey scene, and a massive asset to the US skating community. A well of knowledge and an honest broker, I could not recommend him enough.
I highly recommend John. He was efficient and thorough but didn’t rush. Clearly has a great passion for hockey and helping new, young players share that interest. He made my boots a lot more comfortable and put a great edge on my skates. Highly recommend.
I recently had my son hockey skates sharpened by John and I couldn't be happier with the results!"
The sharpening was precise, and my son immediately noticed a difference for his grip and speed on his game.
John and his kid were incredibly friendly and took the time to explain the different sharpening options available and all the hockey trick how to get better for my son.
My son doesn’t want to leave and want to learn more from them .
I highly recommend The Sharpening Dude to any hockey player looking for top-notch skate sharpening!
100% going back soon with my husband’s skate
There is no better place to get your skates sharpened. This is the only shop I’ll trust with my skates from here on out
Jonathan went above and beyond! Our son needed his goalie glove mended, and Jonathan was able to re-lace the glove in 40 minutes. We are so thankful for his expertise!
Epic service! Jon knows his stuff and is incredibly helpful. Couldn’t recommend his services more. Don’t waste your time and money with other sharpeners.
I stopped in at the Sharpening Dude’s shop today. Although he doesn’t do wood planer knives, like I have, he showed me his shop and shared skate sharpening technique with me. Very pleasant guy to deal with.
The Sharpening Dude provides better service and lower prices than a typical pro shop. It's like basically having a full-service personalized equipment manager available at any time. I recommend TSD to anyone who is serious about hockey and their equipment.
Jon is an awesome dude with a unique business model. Best sharpening in town. Gives great advice regarding what type of sharpening to get and getting the most out of your stride. Good conversations all around. Check him out!
Jonathan is very knowledgeable and helpful businessman. He comes with a wealth of experience and it definitely shows when you see his repeat business. He is the Sharpening Dude! Thank you.
Awesome experience. John is super knowledgeable, friendly, and his services are affordable. Highly recommend!
Terrific! Great profiling and cutting. The " dude" is a consumate professional!!
