No two figure skaters stand, push, or land the same way, which means no two boots need exactly the same work. Some skaters need a blade mounted to a precise spot. Some need a shim to correct how they sit on the ice. Some need a heel sanded and resealed, or a problem that does not have a name until we look at it.
That is why we do not try to list every service we offer. The work your boots need depends entirely on your boots and your skating, and the best way to get it right is to see your skates in person. Below are the things we are asked for most, but the door is always open for whatever yours actually need.
What We Commonly Do
The services figure skaters ask for most
Figure Blade Mounting
Where your blade sits under the boot affects everything: your balance, your edges, your jumps, and how square you feel over the ice. Mounting is precise work, and a blade set even slightly off can make a skater feel like they are fighting their own boots. We mount blades carefully and deliberately, lining them up to your boot and your skating rather than just bolting them on.
Blade Removal & Hole Repair
When a blade comes off, whether to remount, replace, or rebuild, the old screw holes left behind have to be dealt with so the boot stays sound and a new mount holds properly. We remove blades cleanly and repair the holes they leave behind, so the boot is ready for whatever comes next instead of carrying weak, stripped, or open holes.
Shimming for Pronation & Alignment
If a skater pronates or supinates, or simply does not sit square on their blades, the fix is often a shim placed between the blade and the boot to correct the angle. Done right, shimming can take a skater who is constantly fighting an edge and put them back over their center. It is custom work by definition, because it depends entirely on how you stand and skate, which is exactly why we want to see your skates before we touch them.
Waterproofing (SnoSeal)
Leather figure boots and moisture are enemies. Sweat and melted ice work into the leather and break it down from the inside, softening the boot and shortening its life. A proper SnoSeal waterproofing seals the leather and protects your investment, keeping the boot stiffer, drier, and lasting longer, which matters when a good pair of boots is a serious expense.
Boot Cleaning & Conditioning
Figure boots take a beating from sweat, moisture, and everyday use, and leather that is never cleaned or conditioned dries out, cracks, and breaks down faster. A proper cleaning and conditioning lifts away built-up grime and feeds the leather so it stays supple and supportive. It is simple care that meaningfully extends the life of an expensive boot, and it pairs naturally with a waterproofing.
Eyelet Replacement
Torn or pulled-out eyelets make it impossible to lace evenly, and even lacing matters more on a figure boot than people think. We replace damaged eyelets so you can get your boots tight, secure, and supportive again.

When It Doesn't Fit a List
Sometimes the heel needs sanding and resealing. Sometimes it is something we have never seen written on a price sheet. That is not a problem, it is the whole point: your boots are as personal as you are, and a lot of the best work we do does not fit neatly into a standard service.
So stop by and let us see how we can help. We always take care of our skaters, and we work hard to make sure the care your boots need is something you can actually afford.
Bring Your Skates In
The best figure boot work starts with us seeing your skates. Book an appointment and we'll tell you exactly what yours need, do it right, and keep it affordable. Most of these services can also be handled by mail.
